DPR & REAL continue into 2011

Real Essential has developed a range of innovative resin-bead seat specifically for motorsport applications where driver comfort and safety is paramount. DPR Motorsport has worked closely with Real Essential to develop a specific design for Caterham race cars that will provide enhanced safety and driver comfort as well as providing a professional look to the finished product.

2011 marks season three of the tie-up between the championship winning Caterham team, DPR Motorsport and bespoke race seat manufacturer, REAL. The 2011 Caterham series will provide close racing throughout the various classes, headlined by the ultra-competitive R300 class.

With Caterham race cars having limited height between floor and roll cage, REAL’s seat systems allows drivers to achieve their optimum seating position with confidence and comfort.

Commenting on the partnership, DPR Motorsport Team Principle, David Rowe said: “We’re enjoying our partnership with REAL and of course are looking forward to another fantastic season of Caterham racing. Being able to offer our Caterham customers a superior seat system ensures we continue to set the benchmark within the category. Our drivers across all Caterham classes are mega impressed with what can be achieved by opting for a REAL seat system — comfort, lateral support and ‘feel’ for the car is greatly improved. Through the technical partnership DPR and REAL have been able to optimise the seat system to specifically supply the Caterham market.”

Managing Director of REAL, Vaughan Cartwright said: “I’m delighted to be heading into 2011 with DPR Motorsport. Caterham racing offers so much to drivers at every level and it’s great to be part of that. Through our partnership with DPR we have been able to showcase our seats system to all categories of Caterham racing and the feedback we’re getting is what we wanted.”

Round one of the 2011 Caterham R300 series kicks-off at Oulton Park on April 2nd with what is expected to be another close-fought championship.
