Caterham Ride & Handling - The DPR 3D Setup Process
DPR race setups have helped gain championship victories across all grids in the Caterham Motorsport ladder. Through investing in the Snap-on Technology John Bean 3D Visualiner system, DPR provides Caterham owners with access to the latest technology whether for road, track or race.
Providing competitive advantageDPR setups have always made use of digital precision with a flat floor specifically tailored to the wheelbase of the Caterham chassis and containing integral corner weights. Measurement is made using digital equipment capable of measuring to high levels of accuracy. Technical InnovationDPR Motorsport remains the only source for specially manufactured shims that allow the rear De Dion to be adjusted in terms of toe and camber through a DPR designed and manufactured shim set. The design of these shims allows quick at-circuit adjustment in a manner which is consistent and accurate. |

Setups for Road, Track or RaceThe introduction of a John Bean 3D Visualiner system provides DPR with a new level of accuracy. The 3D system allows all relevant areas of ride & handling to be measured in a matter of minutes with an on-screen representation of the key areas such as toe and camber. However, this system also provides access to measurements which would previously not been possible with caster, bump steer and thrust angle now available within a standard setup check. Live measurementThe system allows suspension adjustments to be performed live immediately showing the results updated on the screen. The system also provides a chassis frame check that will show any misalignment due to damage.

Chassis frame checks now included
DPR includes a chassis frame check as part of their accident repair
service. This provides objective measurement of chassis
damage to the front or rear of the car as support for an insurance
claim. It is also relevant for an inspection prior to purchase
of a used Caterham, as the chassis frame check will reveal any out of
tolerance chassis dimensions.

Instant detection of chassis damageWithout the use of a 3D alignment system, chassis damage can remain undetected. The picture on the right shows a car which has been subject to a front impact on the passenger side, moving the front chassis over and the wheels out of true. |
