Caterham Ride & Handling: DPR invests in high precision 3D alignment technology

DPR Motorsport is providing Caterham owners with access to the latest technology for setups for road, race or track.  A Snap-On Technology John Bean Visualiner provides fast and accurate measurement of all chassis dimensions.   This will provide DPR customers with the leading edge in terms of car setups and will also assist with chassis repairs as the system provides an objective assessment of the extent and nature of any chassis damage.

DPR Team Principal David Rowe said "Within DPR we have always focused on a highly technical approach to Caterham motorsport as the chassis is extremely sensitive to quite subtle changes.  Making use of the John Bean 3D Visualiner will allow us to take our setup process to a new level and provide a far more comprehensive analysis to our customers.  Crucially we are able to offer our setups at a reduced cost.

There are quite different requirements for our road versus race customers and this equipment will allow us to be more efficient as well as being able to show customers the results on-screen in a manner simply not possible without this equipment.

Because the system also offers chassis frame dimensions such as track width, wheel base and setback, we are uniquely positioned to determine if out of tolerance chassis damage is present.  For accident repairs, including insurance work, this enables us to ensure that damaged cars are fully restored to the factory specifications."
