Castle Combe Round - Supersport: Maclachlan repeats his double firsts

Castle Combe saw the second round for Caterham Roadsport B, Roadsport A and the new Caterham Supersport category. Once again DPR Motorsport customers gained top results across the grids with Maclachlan repeating his double 1sts despite pressure from Nathan Lindop (pole setter), Paul Begley and Robert Smith .

Success in Supersport

Both Supersport races at Castle Combe had the top three cars all closely challenging for the lead. The most exciting finish was undoubtedly race two where Lindop was poised to take the race lead back from Maclachlan at the final run to the line at Camp Corner. Running wide on to the grass, Maclachlan in his DPR Motorsport prepared bright blue Supersport just managed to hold Lindop at bay.

Top results in Roadsport B

Whilst Roadsport B requires drivers to race without team support, teams are able to perform servicing and set-ups away from the race weekends. DPR motorsport customers continue their lead at the top of the championship. Our congratulations go to Lee Wiggins (1st), Steve Day (2nd) and Ben Whibley (3rd) with Jeremy Webb in 5th place.

Ben Whibley achieved the two fastest laps despite an incident in testing that severely damaged the left hand corner. Prior to the championship round, we were able to use the intervening weekend to repair Ben’s car and use our flat floor equipment to set-up the car to our race-winning benchmarks.
