Given that 2007 was DPR Motorsport's first year of Caterham involvement, the end result for both DPR Motorsport and supported drivers has been fantastically successful. This success was underlined at the last race at Brands Hatch when all three DPR supported drivers gained podium results. There is also no doubt that the DPR Motorsport "Arrive & Drive" car, ably taken to the limit by 18 year old James Davis, fully captured the attention of the Caterham paddock. The initial DPR decision to support Caterham racing was based on an analysis as to where the motorsport market was most receptive to "on the limit" support and car preparation. The unique one-make nature of Caterham racing with race winners/losers separated by seconds means that car and driver must both be at 100%. The other unique facet is the active support by Caterham with the Caterham Academy scheme providing a highly cost effective package for getting into motor sport. It is also apparent that Caterham has a clear vision for taking Caterham motor sport forwards into 2008 & beyond - Click here to view the 2008 Caterham Motorsport Plan. For 2008, the DPR Motorsport "Arrive & Drive" car is based on a brand new metric chassis. As with 2007, this car will participate in the UK Roadsport series but with the 2008 changes the same cars can also participate in European races at evocative circuits such as Monza and Spa. Current focus is with working on 2008 upgrades, mainly for drivers moving from Academy into Roadsport where both suspension and engine require upgrading. However during 2008 we plan to support the upgrade from the "K" series to the new Ford Sigma engine and also for customers wishing to race in the 2009 R300 series using the 175bhp Ford Duratec engine.
