James Davis - Age 18 – Novice race driver - Roadsport

Racing in the DPR Motorsport "Arrive & Drive" car.

A novice to car racing in 2007 with Caterham Roadsports being James Davis's first ever race series.  James Davis achieved an impressive run of results  against seasoned competitors supported by established motor sport teams. These results include lap records at Rockingham and Oulton Park.

Roadsport offers everything the up-and-coming intermediate level driver could wish for: close racing, professional team support and a clear progression from the Roadsport B category. As well as performance upgrades, the most obvious difference from Roadsport B is that the cars lose their windscreens and lights, reducing weight and drag. The message is clear: Roadsport is the point on the Caterham Motorsport ladder where the racing starts to get serious

Mark Figes - Academy

Mark had a number of good results in his first year of racing but a DNF at Cadwell Park with zero points took him out of a championship win position. However, a 1st at Castle Coombe and a 3rd at the last round at Brands Hatch ensured that Mark ended up an impressive 5th overall.

The Academy package takes the difficulty and expense out of going racing for the first time. As well as a road-legal Caterham 7 Roadsport for you to keep, the package includes training, technical support and a season of Caterham racing.

The Academy is only open to those who have never held a racing licence before, and all cars are identical, so you can be sure that the racing will be very close and totally thrilling!  Whilst team support is not allowed on race days, DPR Motorsport can help with building the car, setting it up to race and providing testing support & feedback throughout the year.

Paul Latimer  - Roadsport B

MSN Driver of the Event - Silverstone 3rd,  Rockingham 3rd, Brands Hatch 3rd.

With a generally good results throughout 2007 including three podium finishes, Paul   attained 7th overall in the Caterham Roadsports B Championship using the same engine as he had during his Academy year (6th overall).

Roadsport B (Academy 2 for 2008) provides a natural home for drivers wishing to progress their racing careers after cutting their teeth in the Caterham Academy, although entry is open to all. With relatively minor modifications, graduates of the Academy can up their game to a new level and participate in a faster and more competitive national series

As with Academy, on race days professional team support is not permitted.  The main change in car specification is an engine reliability upgrade and a change to more competitive tyres. Otherwise the cars remain as road legal Academy cars.
