Caterham Race Setups

Our race setups have gained a number of championship victories for our customers, including James Maclachan's 2010 victory in the inaugural Supersport championship where he won 11 out of the 12 races that he took part in. For 2011 we provided setups to Academy champions Elliot Norris & Andrew Welch and Wesley Fox in the Caterham Roadsport championship.

We specialise in bespoke setups suitable for road, track or race that include fully optimised corner weights.  Whether you have a basic Roadsport or slick-shod R500, we will work with you to fine tune the ride & handling to your personal requirements.  Our equipment ensures measurements are accurate to 0.5 kg., 0.1 degree and 0.1 mm.  As part of our process we provide a setup sheet that details the before and after measurements for toe, camber, ride height and corner weights.  For competitors in the Caterham race series we also include information as to start weight and initial fuel levels.

Read about the DPR 3D Alignment Process

We take pride in applying advanced motor sport engineering to Caterham motor sport. We use the highest quality equipment and have developed our own innovative solutions to give us the leading edge in race car chassis set-up. Safety and reliability are paramount to motorsport engineering. As part of our setup process, all critical nuts are checked to ensure they have been torqued correctly after which they are marked to allow a visual check for any movement

Digital Accuracy

The standard off-the-shelf light and mirror based "Dunlop" style tracking gauges are inadequate for race engineering.   Our dedicated flat floor is tailored  to be an accurate fit for the Caterham wheelbase and track dimensions.  In addition to the standard set-up measurements of front toe and camber, we can also measure and adjust  rear toe and rear camber and accurately measure and optimise bump steer and front caster.

Engineering Innovation

Read more about the DPR 'De Dion' Shims

Whilst the Caterham chassis is fully adjustable at the front for caster, camber and toe, the rear De Dion is fixed and toe & camber alignment requires the use of shims between the ears and the De Dion tube.  Without use of the DPR designed and manufactured De Dion shims it is not possible to ensure consistent and accurate alignment of the rear suspension.

Some typical customer feedback after a DPR set-up

Road customers

"Just a quick note to say thanks again for the work on my car on Saturday morning. Obviously I didn’t get much chance to test the handling characteristics on the way home (!), but you completely sorted the heavy steering; it was an enormous difference – light and sensitive; completely different to how it was before."

"Some time ago you set up the suspension. I just thought I'd let you know that having got a couple of thousand miles on the car since then, I am very pleased with the set-up. It now really does "corner on rails" & rides bumpy roads much much better than before, many passengers have commented on how stuck-to-the-road it feels. The slight tendency to oversteer at the extremes has gone completely. Thanks again for making my car even better."

"Took my S3 for a full flat floor set up this week.  The guys were very switched on, the workshop was immaculate and the car was treated with great care and attention from start to finish. Having been for a blat today the results feel positive.  Would be happy to recommend them to any Caterham owner."

Race customers   "Picked up more points in one meeting than I have done over the past 2 years!"

"Just like to say thanks very much for the Graduate MEGA setup you did a few weeks back, first race meeting weekend just gone (and my first ever race) qualified 21st on Saturday and finished 18th, qualified 22nd on Sunday and finished 10,th! RESULT. The car handles like a dream. Many thanks"
