Innovation in motorsport - dpr motorsport tracking gauge awarded a Certificate of Registration of Design

dpr motorsport has gained a Certificate of Registration of Design for their tracking gauge.  This compliments the dpr motorsport designed and manufactured  De Dion alignment shims that provide dpr motorsport with a unique ability to measure rear toe and adjust the rear toe and camber of Caterham race cars.

A unique ability to accurately measure and set-up Caterham race cars

The dpr motorsport tracking gauge is designed to accurately attach to the chassis of Caterham race cars thereby enabling accurate measurement of front and rear toe.  In combination with dpr motorsport's bespoke rear toe and camber shims this enables accurate set-up of the rear De Dion suspension in a manner that can not otherwise be achieved.

David Rowe, dpr motorsport's team principal said "There is no reason why Caterham race cars can not be set-up to the highest level of accuracy.  We have invested in the required digital equipment to work to tolerances of 0.5 mm or 0.5 kg of weight.  Where an off-the-shelf solution is not available we have developed our own engineering solutions.  In order to maintain our competitive edge we have ensured that our intellectual property is protected by the Registered Designs Act.

With a fiercely competitive one-make series such as Caterham racing, the cars are identical in performance and differences between the top drivers in lap times are fractions of a second.  Using our engineering based approach to set-up provides the top drivers with the comfort of knowing that their car set-up is 100% optimised with a consistent and repeatable set-up.   For 2009 the dpr motorsport prepared R300 gained a convincing win in the inaugural Caterham Superlight R300 championship with a race in hand.  Our ability to accurately measure and adjust the suspension set-up was an important contribution to this outstanding result."
