Caterham Race Builds

We specialise in providing quality engineering support for Caterham owners for road, race or track and have a championship-winning build capability that can be used to provide a brand new car or repair/refresh Caterham cars across the model range.

Our workshop location has plenty of space for secure car storage as well as access to complementary businesses including paint spraying and parts. dpr motorsport has the latest technology available including computerised corner weights & flat floor, digital camber gauge and ECU diagnostics for Rover K-Series, Ford Sigma and Duratec engines.  Working with Chris Eva, we have access to aluminium fabrication skills for both bodywork and engine accessories.

Championship Winning Engineering

In 2008, we built the first customer-delivered Superlight R300 for Jon Walker. In August 2008 this car won all three invitation races at Donington, including the first outright win for the Superlight R300 in the Donington pit-stop race. Later that year Jon Walker and David Rowe shared the first endurance race class win for the R300 in the "Grand Prix Historique de Provence" at the Paul Ricard circuit in Southern France.  During 2009, Jon Walker added further victories to his credit with a convincing win in the inaugural Superlight R300 championship, winning the championship at Snetterton with a race in-hand.  We have now built six R300 race cars, five of which are competing in the official championship with the sixth taking part in the Magnificent 7 series.

Performance Quality Assured

dpr motorsport cars are built to professional standards to ensure your car is set-up to the optimum and to minimise the chance of on-track car failures.  On-track reliability was a key factor to the double success for dpr in winning both the 2009 Caterham Superlight R300 driver championship and the Caterham Roadsport A team championship. dpr motorsport was the only Caterham motorsport team to gain victories across more than one step of the Caterham motorsport ladder. (more on the dpr race wins)

For all of our car builds we ensure consistent build quality and performance through independent quality testing. Once the car is built we recommend a roto test run-in to be followed by a power test. This ensures that the engine and power train is run-in under controlled conditions, e.g. The R300 six speed gearbox  requires sensitive running-in to ensure that the on-track gear shift is not compromised.  At the end of the running-in process several power runs are performed to confirm that the output at the wheels is as expected.

Our car handover process comprises an on-track test day so that we can fine tune handling to driver preferences. Through comparison with our hot-lap database we can confirm that on-track performance will meet our championship-winning standards.

We provide a full labour and parts warranty up to the point of the post-build on-track handover subject only to Caterham agreeing to replacement of the relevant components.
